You have two choices for being matched with a student.

The first is the traditional Face-to-Face Mentoring and the second is Email Mentoring.

  • 21 yrs of age
  • Min of 1 hour per week
  • Background investigation
  • Attend Mentor Training Class
  • Min of ½ hour per week
  • No face-to-face visits
  • Background investigation
How does it work?   How does it work?
  • Register on-line for face-to-face mentoring
  • Register on-line and attend a mentor training class
  • Complete background clearance
  • Interview with a school-site mentor coordinator
  • Meet student
  • Serve as role model and assist student achieve his/her goals
  • Visit by phone and in person
  • Some activities include
    - Library visits

    - Sporting events
    - Shopping
    - One-on-one talks
    - Job shadow
    - Academic help
  • Register on-line for email mentoring
  • View and choose a class project created by a teacher
  • Complete background clearance
  • View student profiles of students working on class project and choose a student
  • Begin e-mailing with student regarding the class project
  • Complete periodic on-line surveys regarding student's progress
