• On-line application from prospective mentor

• Access to the Be A Mentor Database for tracking the applicant's progress during the clearing process (i.e. Fingerprinting, TB Screening, DOJ Clearance, etc).

• As the program operator you will have access to the Be A Mentor database to conduct the background clearance process. When the applicant has met all your requirements he or she will be available via the “Coordinator Login” section of the Be A Mentor web site for downloading the mentor applicant file information, and matching him/her with a youth or group of youths.

• Your project operator will have the use of the Be A Mentor project management system to make matches, close matches, view detailed information on mentors and mentees, and email communication among all program participants.

• Your mentors will also have a login ID and password so that activity, progress reports, and general comments are entered and maintained for each mentor/mentee match.

• Your project operator will then be able to view and print various reports regarding activity and progress of matches. This is valuable for reporting to funders.

Optional: For a per applicant fee of $100, Be A Mentor, Inc. staff will perform the following tasks for you.

1. Welcome Kit sent to applicant with information about your project and a checklist of items required prior to being accepted as a mentor in your project. Also included in the kit are the forms needed for the applicant to get finger printed and for a TB screening if required.
2. Be A Mentor Program will conduct background clearances and as the applicant provides Be A Mentor with all items required by your project they will be scanned into Be A Mentor’s computer system and be available to your project operator with the proper login ID and password.
