Project
Re-Connect is a non-profit counseling program established in 1991 to assist
“high-risk” ages 12-18 years of age who are referred by the Juvenile Justice
System. The primary goal of Project
Re-Connect is to facilitate the positive functioning of the youth in their
home, school, and society. This program
addresses the needs of parents and children in developing strategies that
prepare them for making positive life changes, and to divert these youth from
future involvement with the Juvenile Justice System.
Our
mentor program is designed for the adult who's ready to help our youth
become great citizens. We provide the
best support and training for our mentors, and have an incredible experienced
management team. The youth that you will be mentoring are males and females
between the ages of 14- 17, mostly from the Eastbay. The youth are
successful graduates of Project Re-Connect’s eight-week family counseling
program. They have been taught skills to
handle some of life’s challenges as they work to achieve their personal
goals. Your role as
We
are dedicated to ensuring that you have a great experience as a mentor. The
time required will be a minimum of 1 hour a week (4 hours a month) face to
face. In an effort to support our
mentoring program, Project Re-Connect will sponsor a fun activity for program
participants once a month.
Being a
mentor is one of the most rewarding contributions we adults can make. Thank you in advance for choosing to work
with Project Re-connect.
