School-Site Coordinator Training
School-site coordinators are usually teachers or counselors, although other school staff may take the position.
Coordinator training includes:
- Coordinators learn to serve many students by working with adult mentors willing to be matched with students.
- Coordinators learn of the process mentors go through and the expectations that are set during the mentors’ training. Each mentor is required to attend a training class as part of their induction.
- Coordinators also learn tips on how to interest students in participating in a mentor project.
- And they learn how to use the website. Site coordinators must have access to a computer at their school or at home in order to participate.
